Should I switch my computer off or leave it on at night?

Written by Peter Reginald on Wednesday, 10 October 2012. Posted in Home and Office

This is one of those frequently asked questions that I get asked at least once a week by Microsoft Windows desktop computer owners and I thought I'd answer this question here.

Should I switch my computer off or leave it on at night?

If I was asked this question say...15 years ago then my answer would be, "Yes, do switch off your computer at night because you will save electricity and money."

Computers have come a long way over the years. The technology in modern computers uses less power compared to the computers a couple of decades ago. Computers automatically run on low power mode when the user is away for long periods of time.
